You almost had us really worried... the scary part is that its getting close to this since corporations can now influence everybody by paying millions of dollars in advertisement for what the board of directors believe is right for the company... Not even the people working for them...

i can only imagine living in a mining town where 1 company already owns the town...

too funny..... tragically too near the truth, since the court believes that money=free speech, free speech=the vote, it's only logical that they believe money=the vote. Seriously, though, since money clearly influences the votes of others, only persons that are entitled to vote should be allowed to spend money to influence the votes of others. Although it would be impractical/impossible to enforce, that would eliminate corporate spending to influence the vote. Logically, the next step would be to limit individual spending to influnce votes, since great personal wealth shouldn't entitle a person (who has only one vote) to effectively buy the votes of others. Impractical, but desirable, would be a system where all licensed TV and radio broadcasters were required to provide free air-time to candidates, in return for tax breaks that would make it economically feasible.

Thoughts from the P-nut gallery.....

If a Corporation gets one vote per director and corporate officer and 3/5 vote per individual employee..those persons should not be allowed a personal vote outside of the Corporation. Otherwise we should all be entitled to two voted per person.
