The Warriors won five Western Conference crowns and three championships from 2014-15 to 2018-19. In 2015 and 2016, Curry was named MVP, Green was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2017, and Kerr was named Coach of the Year in 2016.
The Warriors established NBA history by winning 73 games during the regular season in 2015-16. However, they became the first team in NBA history to blow a 3-1 series lead to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Finals. The Warriors struck gold when they signed free agent Kevin Durant in the summer of 2016, winning back-to-back championships in 2017 and 2018.
Curry and company have now missed the playoffs two years in a row since Durant departed the Warriors. Since the Dubs are 22-5 through their first 27 games, that pattern is expected to alter this season.
Because they are playing so well without their All-NBA guard, the Warriors might become the overwhelming favorite to win the title after Thompson returns from his Achilles injury. Curry, Green, and Kerr, on the other hand, understand that steps cannot be bypassed better than anybody else.
Warriors must use their failure in the 2016 Finals as motivation to keep the path.

The Warriors have regained their popularity in the media. After back-to-back non-playoff seasons, the club is once again must-see television, and Curry might earn his third MVP award if he keeps playing like this.
This season is eerily similar to the Warriors’ 73-9 performance in 2015-16. Curry, Green, and Kerr, as team leaders, must ensure that players and coaches do not get complacent. Even though the regular season is lengthy, the Warriors must have the attitude of attempting to be the greatest every night if they want to bring the Larry O’Brien trophy back to Oracle Arena.
This season, it will be intriguing to watch how far Golden State can go. We won’t be able to assess them properly until Thompson returns and gets his legs under him, but the Dubs are looking good thus far.
