The AirPods 3 and the Beats Fit Pro are neck-and-neck. With a $350 price difference, we break down which Apple device is better for your wallet.
The “beats fit pro vs airpods 3” is a question that many people are asking. The Beats Fit Pro has been released recently, and it’s definitely one of the best wireless earbuds on the market. However, if you’re looking for something cheaper with better sound quality, then the AirPods should be your choice.
The $199 Beats Fit Pro and the $175 AirPods 3 are two new true wireless earbuds from Apple. Both are heavily influenced by the $249 AirPods Pro, with the Fit Pro including active noise cancellation and a Transparency mode and the AirPods 3 adopting the Pro’s general design and several of its main functions. So, one of these more cost-effective options is right for you?
From the Beats Fit Pro’s safe and workout-friendly design to the AirPods 3’s Adaptive EQ and Spatial Audio support, both accomplish a lot of things well. However, after comprehensive testing, one of these buds stood out as the obvious winner for the majority of consumers. Here’s how Apple’s new earphones compare.
Sporty earbuds with high-end characteristics
If you want all of the capabilities of the AirPods Pro in a sportier, more colorful appearance, the Beats Fit Pro are a terrific option.
For the price, the sound and functions are excellent.
The AirPods 3 are Apple’s newest earbuds, and they provide excellent sound quality and functionality for the price.
With several ear tips, you desire a more secure fit.

The Beats Fit Pro and AirPods 3 are equally comfortable to wear, but we favor the new Beats buds’ softer, more secure fit. Even while you’re exercising, the Fit Pro’s rubberized wingtip shape and soft silicone ear tips ensure a secure fit (note that both of these buds are IPX4-rated to handle sweat or water).
The Beats Fit Pro comes with three sets of interchangeable ear tips, giving you plenty of choices for finding the perfect fit. By contrast, the AirPods 3 have a more open, one-size-fits-all design, and although they’re still very comfy, we believe the Fit Pro are more so.
Active noise cancellation and Transparency mode are what you’re looking for. The Beats Fit Pro are essentially a sportier version of the AirPods Pro, with active noise cancellation to filter out annoying noises and a Transparency mode to magnify external music. Both of these features performed well in our tests, and you won’t find them on AirPods 3.
If you don’t need those two features, the AirPods 3 and Beats Fit Pro provide almost identical Apple-centric perks. They’ll instantly link with your Apple devices, have Spatial Audio for immersive 360-degree sound, and an Adaptive EQ for on-the-fly music optimization. When it comes to audio quality, the AirPods 3 have somewhat more noticeable bass, while the Beats Fit Pro has a more balanced, broader soundstage. However, if you want to block out the outside world while working (or working out), the Beats are the way to go.
Which earphones are better: Beats Fit Pro or AirPods Pro?
You want something that works on both iPhone and Android devices. For those in the Apple environment, the Beats Fit Pro and AirPods 3 are comparable, but if you have an Android phone, there’s no contest. The Fit Pro offers roughly the same feature set across all platforms thanks to the Beats app for Android. Toggle between listening modes, personalize the settings, and do a “Ear Tip Fit Test” to determine the proper tip size. Both the AirPods 3 and the Beats Fit Pro synced fast with our Google Pixel 5a, but you won’t be able to personalize the former if you’re on Android.
Colors appeal to you (and physical controls)

One of our favorite features of the Beats Fit Pro is the variety of colors available, which include black, white, sage grey, and a very lovely stone purple. Meanwhile, the newer AirPods are still available in the classic Apple white. Because of their shorter stems, they appear better than the 2nd-Gen AirPods, but those who prefer a variety of colors should get the Fit Pro.
The tactile controls on the Beats Fit Pro set them apart from the AirPods, allowing you to control music playing and switch listening modes with a single, pleasant click. The AirPods 3’s pinch controls are OK, but we prefer the Beats Fit Pro’s buttons for their immediacy, particularly while we’re keeping active.

You’d want to save a few dollars.

Although none of these earbuds is inexpensive, the $179 AirPods 3 are somewhat less expensive than the $199 Beats Fit Pro (now $174.99 on Amazon). Both types will most certainly go on sale in the coming months, but for now, opting for the new AirPods will save you $20 to $25, which you can use toward accessories or a few months of Apple Music.
You like earbuds with a more open, basic style. While we appreciate the Beats Fit Pro’s secure silicone fit and active noise cancellation, we understand that not everyone wants earbuds that fit snugly in their ears. The AirPods 3 offer a good open design that fits a little looser, enabling you to hear your music clearly while still letting in some ambient sound. The simplicity of the AirPods 3 is appealing if you want something that sounds fantastic right out of the box and don’t want to tinker with various listening modes.
You’d want a case that’s more compact (and wireless charging)
CNN/Mike Andronico
The AirPods 3 charging case is substantially slimmer than the Beats Fit Pro charging case, giving it a better fit for people with extremely tiny pockets. The case also supports wireless charging, so you can charge the buds by placing it on your preferred MagSafe or Qi-standard charger. You can’t do that with the Beats Fit Pro.
Specifications:
- Cost: $179
- White is the predominant color.
- Characteristics: Adaptive EQ, Spatial Audio
- IPX4 water resistance
- 2.14 x 1.83 x 0.84 inches (1.34 ounces) in size and weight (case).

Both the $199 Beats Fit Pro and the $179 AirPods 3 are excellent earphones, but the newest Beats are superior in nearly every aspect. They’re more secure and pleasant to wear than Apple’s AirPods, feature active noise cancellation, and work with both iPhones and Android smartphones. They’re also available in purple.
There’s still a lot to enjoy about the updated AirPods if you’re wanting to save $20. They sound amazing, have all of Apple’s essential features, and come with a smaller casing. While we like the Beats Fit Pro’s feel, other people may prefer the AirPods’ more open design. However, unless those exact characteristics appeal to you, we’d advise most people to go with the Beats.
The “beats fit pro vs airpods pro reddit” is a question that has been asked many times. The answer to the question is that Beats Pro are better than AirPods 3 in some ways, but not in others.
